01 - Arrival & Kathmandu Welcome

We’ll meet you at the airport and transfer you directly to Hotel Timila in Kathmandu. Take the afternoon to assemble your bike, adjust your setup, and shake off your travel legs with your choice of casual local sightseeing or a relaxing evening yoga session.

Transfer: ~8 hours drive (or optional 30-minute scenic flight for +$150 USD)

Embark on a highly scenic overland drive that traces the Sunkoshi River before climbing high into the Solukhumbu district. End the day at Kyirmu Lodge, our comfortable and welcoming home base in Phaplu.

Elevation: 2,400m to 3,300m
Network: 18 downhills (70+ km of dedicated trails)

Spend two full days exploring the hills surrounding Phaplu at Nepal's premier purpose-built bike park, the Ratnange Trail Center. With over 70 km of dedicated singletrack, you'll weave through dense forests and open ridgelines that showcase views of Mount Everest on clear days. (Vehicle shuttles are available to maximize your gravity runs).

Drop: From 3,600m down to 1,500m

Start the morning at 3,600m with massive panoramic mountain views before dropping a staggering 2,100 vertical meters. Along the way, pedal or shuttle up to the historic early 20th-century Chiwang Monastery to attend a traditional Buddhist puja ceremony, before capping off the day with a beautifully technical downhill singletrack back to Phaplu.

Distance: ~30 km | Elevation Gain: +800m

Ride a series of pristine backcountry trails that culminate at Serlo Monastery. Take the evening to fully immerse yourself in local culture and learn about Buddhist philosophy directly from the resident monks before spending a unique, peaceful night staying at the monastery itself.

Distance: 30 km | Elevation: +1,300m / -1,600m

After attending the monastery's morning puja ceremony, tackle a 2-hour pedal (or vehicle shuttle) to Lamjura Pass (3,600m). From there, a brief 45-minute hike-a-bike brings you to a 4,000m summit where an incredibly long, fast ridge descent serves up sweeping Himalayan vistas all the way back to Phaplu.

Distance: ~40 km | Elevation Gain: +1,000m

Begin the multi-day expedition toward Pikey Peak. Ride a mix of scenic, rugged terrain and remote paths to reach the hillside village of Jhapre (3,000m). (Shuttle support is available for this leg). Unwind for the evening in a simple, clean, and highly hospitable local guesthouse.

Distance: 20 km | Elevation Gain: +700m

Climb toward Pikey Base Camp (3,700m) along a spectacular ridgeline that delivers non-stop panoramic mountain views. Enjoy two hours of steady climbing on a jeep track before diving into a alpine forest singletrack—most of it is entirely rideable, with just a final 20-minute push to reach our remote, atmospheric teahouse for the night. (Halfway shuttle options available).

Summit Altitude: 4,050m | Descent: -2,000m+ vertical drop

A one-hour morning push brings you to the summit of Pikey Peak (4,050m) just in time to admire arguably the finest view in the Himalayas, spanning five of the world's 8,000-meter peaks. What follows is pure legendary enduro: a massive, 2,000-meter vertical descent over an incredibly diverse mix of flowing alpine ridges and technical singletrack back down to Phaplu.

Distance: 30–40 km | Elevation Gain: +1,000m

Enjoy a final, fully customizable day of riding around Phaplu's near-unlimited trail network, maxing out at an altitude of 3,200m. A full vehicle shuttle day is highly recommended here to pack in as many unique singletrack lines and hidden gravity trails as your legs can handle.

Transfer: 4–5 hours overland drive back to Kathmandu

Leave early for a short drive up to Dhap (3,000m), then mount up for a final, massive gravity drop all the way down to the Sunkoshi River bank (300m), transitioning through a massive variety of terrain and climates. A private vehicle will meet you at the valley floor to transfer you back to Hotel Timila in Kathmandu.

Enjoy a completely open day to explore the historic sights of Kathmandu, hunt for souvenirs, drop into a local yoga class, or head out for one last optional trail loop. (Riders who can't get enough of the singletrack can optionally choose to skip this day and spend an extra night out in Phaplu instead).

Your private airport transfer will be perfectly synchronized with your flight schedule, ensuring a seamless checkout and drop-off at the international terminal for your journey home.
